I thought I was supposed to.
Arbitrary rules we base our realities around. You are doing the best that you can. You are beautiful. You are loved. I look in the mirror and I see you. I am proud of you, and you would be proud of me.
Be a little more present.
Sit with your emotions and feel and heal.
Come home to yourself. Release the energy that no longer serves you. The outside perspectives and opinions that hold you back.
And just go for it.
Do the thing that makes you uncomfortable. The thing that scares you. The obstacle you tell yourself you can’t get past. You can get past it. Just do the thing.
What expectation do you hold yourself to that you absolutely hate and feels like sandpaper on your heart when you hold yourself to it? Ask yourself, why do you hold yourself to it? Is it because you thought you were supposed to? Because you were told this is the only way? Because you were told this is the way to success? Because you were told this is the way it has always been done? Because if you don’t you’ll ruin your future? Because if you don’t you’ll end up with nothing? Because if you don’t you’ll end up living in shame?
But if you are waking up dreading the majority of your day, is doing “what you are supposed to” worth it?
And when you pursue the things that light you up, the narrative is often met with fear based resistance from others. Do not take on those opinions. Do not take on that energy.
You don’t need your vices. Whether it be outside validation, bad habits, self destructive behavior, need to control something, alcohol/weed/nicotine/caffein. Distractions and the Ego.
Stay open. Free yourself from the confines of your own mind. Do not hold yourself back. Do not allow outside perspectives to hold you back. Stay open and in flow and let your intuition guide you through.
And when you fail along the way, you will learn from it and come back wiser. Stronger. More refined. More in a frequency of understanding.
You know what you should do. You and only you.
